The Veritas School 2009 Benefit Auction and Dinner

One generation will commend your works to another;
they will tell of your mighty acts. They will speak of the glorious splendor of your
majesty, and I will meditate on your wonderful works. They will tell of the power of
your awesome works, and I will proclaim your great deeds. They will celebrate
your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness.
Psalm 145:4-7
What a blessing to have more than 200 guests attend the Veritas auction on February 27! Under the theme "Glorious Splendor…Wonderful Works!" the decorating committee did an incredible job creating a "glorious" atmosphere in the ballroom of the Multnomah Athletic Club. Nationally known guest pianist Michael Allen Harrison provided delightful background music during both the silent auction and dinner, and the adorable chocolate-lab puppy (who went home that night with the Evans family) brought smiles, and licks, to all he encountered!
Audrey Smith, one of the auction co-chairs, asked to be sure and thank the volunteers and the Veritas community for all their hard work – from procuring items to working on class projects, selling raffle tickets, helping with set up, bidding on items etc. The evening could not have been a success without them. Thanks, also, to the businesses and individuals who helped sponsor this annual event and who placed ads in the auction brochure.
Those who deserve mega-kudos for all their time and efforts are Smith, Sheila Huber, Laurie Charbonneau, Heather Hupfer, Debbie Stoppa, and Cassandra Teegarden. The Lord blessed their work in that the auction grossed $80,000, which is amazing in this economy. In the Fund-a-Need section, alone, bidders gave $11,000 to purchase document cameras for our teachers to use in the classrooms and to add to the tuition-scholarship fund. We definitely saw God’s glorious splendor and wonderful works made evident that night!

Congratulations to the following people for winning the auction’s raffle prizes this year:
Flat Screen - Heather from Tigard
Camera - Gerry from Oregon City
$500 Cash - Rhonda from Beaverton

Here are a few photos from an enjoyable evening...
